Seated Positions for Pain Relief
Almost all of us are living with chronic pain due to how we sit, and our seated postures usually strain the muscles in our necks, backs and hips. If you're living with chronic headaches, neck and low-back pain, tense shoulders, TMJ and other pain that creeps up on you or wakes you up at night, this 7-minute video is worth your time. Lee Albert, LMT, will teach you how to use a common polyester pillow to support your lower back while driving a car, working at a desk or in front of a computer. Changing how you sit will alleviate, and may even eliminate, your chronic pain.
Hammertoe Stretch & Mobilization
In this video, Dr. Ray McClanahan, a sports podiatrist at Northwest Foot and Ankle and the inventor of Correct Toes, demonstrates a two-part stretch that can be used to help rehabilitate hammertoes. Hammertoes are caused by an imbalance between toe flexor and extensor tendons. The stretches shown in this video help restore tendon balance and realign the toes to the position that nature intended.
Short meditation: If you're interested in using your mind to heal or diminish a painful condition, this guided meditation by Rita Hickman helps many people (approx. 20-minutes).
Longer meditation: Louise L. Hay is reknown for her affirmations and guided meditations that help retrain the mind to think differently about pain and wellness. Hay even recommends allowing yourself to fall asleep while listening to this meditation (1 hour, 20 minutes).
